Development of statistical methods for complex data analysis problems and of the software tools for their implementation.

• Now-casting for ICT sector statistics: Development of a now-casting (estimation based on incomplete data) methodology for key Structural Business Statistics of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, using statistical and econometric methods. Additionally, development of the software tool for implementation of this methodology. (Eurostat, 2007)
• ETIS OLAP Toolbox: A web based OLAP (on-line analytical processing) toolbox for visualisation and exploratory analysis of multidimensional official statistics data sets and indicators, delivered by a multidimensional data warehouse and an OLAP web service in GESMES/XML format. (ETIS Consortium, DG Transport and Energy, 2005)
• Nowcasting for R&D Statistics: Development of a new nowcasting (estimation based on incomplete data) methodology, of the software tool for its implementation, of a new metadata structure and of a metadata-collection tool, for statistics on Research and Development. (Eurostat, 2005-2008)
• CAESAR - Crop Area Estimation Software: Design and development of a software application, applying advanced statistical methods for the estimation of agricultural land use based on geo-sampling. (JRC, 2005)
• Estimation of Quarterly National Accounts: Analysis of methods for the compilation of quarterly national accounts and requirements analysis for the design of the respective software module to be integrated in the information system of the National Statistical Service of Greece. (NSSG, Altec, 2004)
• IST/ERMIS - Electronic commerce Measurement through Intelligent agents: A software system for random selection and categorisation of e-commerce web pages, in order to estimate web page populations and calculate e-commerce statistical indicators, applying an adapted multiple recapture methodology. (DG Information Society, 5th Framework Program for R&TD, 2000-2003).
